On September 26th, Lynch PD officers in conjunction with the Harlan County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on a safe recovered from the residence of Candy Ball and Calvin Pace. Located in the safe was a firearm, approximately 2 ounces ($16000 street value) of suspected heroin, US currency and drug paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking. The investigation is ongoing with additional arrests and charges pending.

Successful evening at the Poke Sallet Festival. Sheriff Chris Brewer and Sergeant Charles Bailey spoke with several individuals and gained valuable information on possible drug trafficking. Many teenagers participated with the fatal vision goggles learning the dangers of driving while impaired and with the help from Deputies Josh Lewis, Justin Farley and Sergeant Charles Bailey, we were able to raise $500 for the KY Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch. The Sheriff's favorite Deputy Sjors also stopped by the booth. Thank you Harlan County.
